Choose the airport around the actual campus
Beijing Capital (PEK) and Beijing Daxing (PKX) both serve the city, but they create different ground journeys. Put the hospital's full Chinese address, district, campus name, outpatient building, and entrance into your travel sheet before buying a ticket. Ask the authorised hospital or coordinator to confirm that the address is the intended campus.
Record your arrival terminal and a realistic door-to-door window rather than only the flight landing time. Add immigration, baggage, a payment or communication stop, and the possibility of a late arrival. If a same-day appointment is unavoidable, ask for a written latest-arrival time and the person who can re-confirm it; do not treat an airline schedule or a booking message as proof that a clinic will still receive you.
Build a PKX or PEK transfer card
For Daxing, the Beijing municipal airport guide describes airport buses, online car-hailing, and the airport express, with tickets available at the Beijing Service airport counter using valid identification. Save the Chinese name of your destination and the selected station or bus stop. For Capital, keep the terminal number visible, since a driver or helper needs to know whether you are at T1, T2, or T3.
Beijing's 2026 municipal shuttle update describes a direct Capital–Daxing airport connection and other routes linking railway stations and downtown areas; routes and hours can change. An airport-to-airport bus is not automatically the best route to a medical campus. Agree who checks disruptions and what happens if the service has stopped.
Confirm the hospital campus in a way a driver can use
Create a one-page arrival card with the hospital's Chinese name, campus address, outpatient or international-service building if officially confirmed, appointment reference, and a map pin. Put your accommodation and the hospital on separate lines. Ask for the entrance wording that appears on the hospital's own confirmation, not a nickname supplied by a third party. A coordinator can help compare the details; the provider decides whether the appointment, department, and patient acceptance are valid.
Plan the final approach from the drop-off point to the registration desk. Large Beijing campuses may have several gates, security checks, pedestrian routes, and buildings with similar names. Keep the appointment letter, passport for the hospital's registration requirement, and a small translated address note together, but do not send passport scans or numbers at first contact. If you have reduced mobility, ask the responsible team to arrange any appropriate assistance before travel.
Use city services for language and navigation
The Beijing government publishes an English city map that marks transport hubs and medical facilities. Use it to cross-check the district, campus, and route against the hospital's Chinese confirmation, then save the map reference offline. It is a navigation aid, not a hospital booking channel or a substitute for written registration instructions.
Keep your own offline folder with the address in Chinese, the booking reference, accommodation details, and an emergency contact. Share only the minimum information needed for a transport or language task. If an urgent health problem develops, use local emergency services or the responsible clinical team; a taxi, ride-hailing car, interpreter, or coordinator is not a clinical transfer service and cannot assess medical urgency.
Leave Beijing with a traceable handover
Before returning, ask for the documents that the provider is authorised to release: visit notes, reports, images or image-access instructions, medication directions, and the next follow-up owner. Check that the campus and date on the papers match your visit. If another appointment is proposed, request the responsible department's written confirmation and the conditions for rescheduling, rather than relying on a conversation in a busy reception area.
Your practical plan should end with a route from the hospital back to accommodation or the airport, a buffer for traffic, and a named person who receives the handover. Beijing traffic and airport distances make spare time valuable, but no itinerary can guarantee a departure or a clinical outcome. To start a coordinated request, send an anonymous summary first and ask which minimum documents and arrival details are genuinely needed.
