Lock the terminal before you book the road leg
Baiyun's terminal assignments changed during 2026. Verify whether your flight uses T2 or T3 with the operating airline immediately before travel; an old T1 arrival card may be out of date. Put the confirmed terminal beside your flight number in the itinerary, because a driver at the wrong terminal can create a long delay after immigration and baggage.
Confirm the hospital's full Chinese name, district, campus, building, and entrance with the authorised provider or coordinator. Guangzhou medical campuses may sit far from Baiyun, in central districts, or in another part of the city; a hospital brand without a campus is not a usable destination. Write down a latest-arrival time, a fallback if the flight is late, and the person authorised to change the appointment.
Choose a Baiyun connection that matches your luggage
The municipal transport notice states that Baiyun Airport East Station is at the T3 transport centre's B2 level, with a walk to the T3 departure hall. Travellers can also use Metro Line 3 or 9 to Gaozeng and then the T3 shuttle. These T3 options still require a terminal and service-hours check.
For a terminal mismatch, follow the airport's current signs and the carrier's notice rather than relying on an older T1–T2–T3 shuttle description. The municipal guide places T3 ride-hailing pick-up in the P12 parking complex and describes a dedicated bus area in the transport centre. Save the Chinese terminal and pick-up wording, and leave time for walking or a queue; city transport is not a clinical transfer service.
Make the hospital route legible to local staff
Prepare a route card with the official Chinese campus name, district, outpatient building, appointment reference, and map pin. Keep accommodation and hospital addresses on separate lines. Ask the authorised contact to verify whether the first stop is registration, an international service desk, imaging reception, or another location. A government directory can help locate a licensed institution, but only the provider confirms its current appointment and registration instructions.
Plan from the vehicle drop-off to the actual desk. A large campus may have security, separate outpatient and inpatient entrances, and signs that use Chinese abbreviations. Keep a printed or offline Chinese address note and the provider's confirmation. At first contact, share an anonymous summary and only the minimum documents requested; do not send passport scans or passport numbers merely to ask whether a visit can be considered.
Use Guangzhou's public information layers
The Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission maintains an online medical-institution search platform, with filters for district, level, grade, and specialty. Use it to check an institution's public listing and address, not to infer quality, availability, or suitability for a particular patient. Guangzhou's published information about the “Guangzhou Health Pass” also describes online registration support for holders of a Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card at participating institutions; eligibility and participating facilities can change.
For language help in public-service situations, Guangzhou's official international portal describes a 24-hour English interpretation service. Treat that as communication support, not as a hospital booking channel or clinical advice. Keep the emergency and care-team instructions with you. If the patient becomes acutely unwell, the responsible clinical team or local emergency service must arrange clinical assessment or transport; a ride-hailing driver and coordinator cannot do that safely.
Close the visit with a return-home handover
Before leaving Guangzhou, ask for authorised copies of visit notes, reports, images or access instructions, medication and follow-up directions, and the owner of the next question. Check the campus and date. If the provider suggests another appointment, request written timing, required documents, payment or cancellation terms, and a route back to the same campus. A proposed date is not confirmed until the responsible provider confirms it.
Allow a buffer for Baiyun transfers and Guangzhou road traffic before a train or flight. Keep the final documents with the original anonymous summary so your home team can see what was answered and what remains open. To begin coordination, ask for a short arrival-and-campus checklist; the service can organise information and handoffs, while clinical scope, admission, treatment, and transport decisions stay with the authorised providers.
